Soap dish

Hey guys happy Thursday almost Friday… Almost the weekend. So what happens when you take two clear plates, paint the back of them a beautiful Tiffany blue, and glue them together with a Dollartree candlestick in the middle.?? You get a beautiful new tiered soap/perfume dish. Mine is sitting in between my double sinks in the bathroom. I placed seashells ,starfish ,and sand dollars on the bottom !!then on top I displayed mine and my husband's perfume and cologne along with some sweet scented hand soap that I made called soul shine. This was a pretty easy project. I bought two clear plates from the Dollartree, I painted them with leftover paint from other things I painted for my bathroom. And then I glued them altogether with a Dollartree candlestick . I used gorilla glue because it is the only thing that holds glass together well enough to stay!! Tomorrow hopefully I can show you a few more of the projects I did. So go try this quick easy project :) and happy weekend.

A lil spice in your life( easy spice rack)

Hey guys! Things are really coming together and then you house. It seems like it's taking for ever for me to get unpacked. Well honestly, it's not the unpacking it's the painting and fixing of all the things that I want to do before I actually bring them from the garage to the house. I'm gonna go ahead and start sharing with you a couple of the projects I've done. I have been so super busy that I didn't really take a lot of before pictures, but that's okay, it's easy simple projects that I can explain pretty well so t if you decide to do it in your home, then you know, it's pretty easy to figure out. Ok so... this first thing I did was so easy. I went to Lowes and bought a 2 x 4 and had them cut it to 19 inches three times. I went ahead and bought the already white 2 x 4 just to save myself a step from painting the price wasn't much different. I think I paid like five dollars for the 2 x 4. I also bought a small piece of molding Trim that was cut the exact same length as the 2×4 . Okay and finally the last thing I picked up while I was there was little L brackets. They came Four to a Pack, and I was doing three shelves, so I got two packs!!Now to hold my spices, I'm using mason jars! On the bottom shelf I'm using the larger mason jars. And on the top two shelves I'm using a tiny jelly jars. So needless to say I did put an extra L bracket on the bottom shelf, just because I knew it would be a little heavier than the top two shelves. Okay so here's the quick project. You already have your pieces cut, you come home to paint your trim whatever color you want. I chose a crackle white and eggplant purple. Let that dry as long as you can stand it. I admit mine was still a bit tacky but it's okay everyone knows I'm impatient. Use wood glue to attach the trim to the 2x4's and let that dry. Have your wonderfully handsome husband (or someone handy or you can do it yourself if you want ) attach the L brackets and hang it in your desired location. Fill your mason jars with wonderful spices and herbs. And now you will look forward to making dinner just so you can use all your selection of spices and herbs. Oh yeah, just one last thing to help out with labeling.I was going to make really cute tags for every jar but then I thought what is going to happen after I decide to change a spice. So I went ahead and painted the top of my mason jars with chalkboard paint and I just used chalk to write the names os spices on there. The normal pieces of chalk are hard to work with. A bit too thick to get it written on there like I wanted it, so I went and bought the chalk markers (staples has them) and they are on sale right now because of back to school. Yay! So clean out that clutter by displaying it in your kitchen. These spices and herbs are too beautiful to be stowed away. So go to Lowe's, have them do the work, paint it pretty and hang it up. Enjoy y'all ! Rock on!! Angie

Six Flags over Georgia

It's almost back to school for my lil monkeys so today we conquer the Ultimate Quest...surviving a theme park in 90 degree weather with two boys. Sheesh, what are we thinking? We are prepared and organized(NOT)!! I did remember the tickets the boys got for being good readers in AR points. I had them fill their Dr Seuss bags with things to occupy them in our 4plus hour drive.we have pillow pets and a Thomas blanket . Yes it's a hot summer day but my husband freezes us with the air conditioner un the car. We brought an empty cooler so we can stop by Target or Walley world and fill it up with food and drinks so we save some money:) Wish us luck and hopefully I'll post pics soon.

I love Saturdays

Happy Saturday everyone :)WOW! What a great day today was so far! I started out the morning with a great cup of coffee, met my best friend for a trip around the town for some local yard sales, and finished up by hitting up the local farmers market. I'm about so many great things at the farmers market. I bought fresh peaches, fresh basil, hand made smoked paprika cheese, a Jar of Apple pepper jelly, and of course some ripe red juicy tomatoes. We are really enjoying our move to Madison Alabama. I am super lucky to have found a house that I love so close to the school my boys will attend. Did I mention my house is one minutes from my best friend?? We have been getting super crafty this past week making things for her grandmother's birthday party. The theme is Alabama. Roll Tide! She is at the party right now. Setting up with the decorations we made and taking pictures so I can share it with all of you. Eventhough I have been super busy trying to get this house unpacked. I'm sure you all know how that is. I have still found time to make some of the cutest tutus and hair bows. So I'm off to set up my Etsy store and soon we will announce the name of it, so you can all come check out what I've been working on. Now, it is time to relax and wait for junk Gypsies to come on at six. Have a wonderful Saturday! Rock and Roll!!

Praise The Lord!

Im not sure how but I FINALLY got my blog back to normal. Thank you Lord for giving me the patience not to THROW my laptop out of anger. YAY!!!

Chalkboard bar

Sadly I still cannot fix this ugly plain blog but I did spruce up my bar. I just painted the top with chalkboard paint. The recipe is easy.... 1 cup paint. Plus 2 tbs unsanded tile grout. Goes a long way too but it doesn't keep premixed so just mix it as needed. It works with any color paint but I used black for this simple upglam. Have a great time with this cheap miracle paint recipe. Xo Angie

Happy Easter

Hello Every Bunny(get it,every bunny??? haha)
I hope you are all having a great Easter. I am gonna start out but showing you an EPIC FAIL by yours truly. If you have been by RockStar cottage before you have probably heard me talk about my two worst characteristics. I have no patience and I'm a last minute do-er. SAD BUT TRUE!!
MY TRY AND FAIL

I loved the look of tie dyed eggs. No not Bob Marley hippie chic(but that would be cute too huh??) The kind dyed with actual silk ties. So I went thru my Hubby's old ties and grabed a couple at a thrft store. I was getting the boys ready to go out of town butwanted to try this anyway. With less tha an hour before we were suppose to leave I rushed and FAILED=( I KNOW EXACTLY WHY TOO!! So I did learn something . I didn't wrap the egg enough so it only deposited dyed in the best wrapped places. so I put the dark reds in with the baby yellow so it overpowered it. Ok,here it is......

not great at all. BUT I know someone who has patience and did hers beautifully.
It's Martha..
Click on this beautiful photo too see an Epic Win and her TUTORIAL!!

Well that's it for today. I hope you all have a very
 BLESSED EASTER!

Test and the Tooth Fairy

Hello my lovelies. I am so excited to announce that I have passed my final exam for my real estate class. Now all I have to do is pass the actual state exam. I have been studying very hard and I can not tell you how HAPPY I am to be almost done.
Also in the news today... my youngest son has lost yet another front tooth!!
I hope that the tooth fairy  won the mega millions lottery that was so popular because at the rate we're going she just may need back up. We do a fun little tradition here. Instead of putting our tooth under our pillow, we put it in a glass of water. Then when thetooth  fairy comes and sees i it, she is so happy and  dances around leaving magical glitter everywhere.. (for easy cleanup) But MOSTLY in the glass This excites them and gives me something else to sprinkle glitter on :) What does the tooth fairy do when she comes to your house??? Please feel free to leave a comment with a link to your Tooth Fairy Post or any other fun childhood traditions.

My Sweet Southern Summer Coconut Tea Recipe

I warn you, This is the BEST TEA you will ever drink.!!
I have never shared this simple recipe before but I get a lot of request to bring this to summer parties.
I came across this recipe from a true Southern Belle. I was born here in the south but this beautiful Lady had the southern drawl thick as bbq sauce, and she made men blush with her unknowing confidence. I am talking Blanche Deveraux(from Golden Girls) in the flesh.

How about a quote=)

                     BLANCHE DEVEREAUX
------------  It was at that moment I realized that my                                                       bosoms had the power to make music!---------------

Now...For the recipe.I like to make mine in quart sized jars because I drink them right from the jar. If you want to make a GALLON at a time just Multiply this recipe by 4
.
1 quarts size tea bag (I prefer Lipton)
1/3 to 1 C of Sugar
1/2 tsp baking soda(trust me,this cuts out that bitterness tea can get)
Now add 1tsp of McCormick Imitation Coconut Flavoring.
Fill Jar with ingredients above,
add water till its  3/4 full--- saving room for ice--- and shake (if you have the lid on )or stir.
Now YOU have to make a tough choice ...
You can either go all TRUE SOUTHERN SUMMER and sit your jar out in the sun for an hour or so OR if you cant stand the wait (like I usually cannot) Then pop it it your Microwave for 2 min.MAKE SURE THERE ARENT ANY STAPLES IN YOUR TEA BAGS IF YOU USE THE MICROWAVE AND FOR GOODNESS SAKE.....DONT POP IT IN THERE WITH THE METAL LID ON!!
Now add ice, sit on the front porch, and enjoy .
